9 teams in 3 divisions X-BALL made it to this leg and after its conclusion we decided that a few words regarding the tournament, referees, teams and setup are needed.
Tournament
After each of the 9 teams that took part graded the tournament with an overall score of 5.7 (1 low – 6 excellent) which pleases us but from our experience and demands we graded it a 4.8. The programme of the games was made in the morning, some places needed higher netting, the pitch made it impossible for slides and because we were informed that some vendors would be there but sort of didn’t show up we neglected to have snacks and drinks (besides water which we had thank god).We will put all our effort to upgrade this areas.
Referees
The grade from the teams for the reffs was again a 5.7 so they did well. A few minor mistakes towards the end but don’t forget they have never refereed in a Xball Event so this time we will go easy on them J. Keep it up.
Teams
9 teams. Wow it has been a while since we saw so many teams at a speedball event lately and 4 Novice first time teams!!!! I am ecstatic.
Dogs d’amour : Well they took 1st place in 5 man PRO without losing a point so not a lot to say about them but keep it up and dogs on 3 , 1 2 3 !!!
Paintball-Z : 2nd place in 5 man pro and showed some potential but they need a lot of training and a lot of focus. I did see 2-3 players though that impressed me.
Old Farts: A mixed roster of old and young just ploughed through the opposition in slow motion style (we thought we were really fast tbh) and got 1st place in the 3 man amateur division.
Shellshock: Very good games and aggressive breakouts but I believe the pitch didn’t let them unfold all their talent so they took 2nd in 3man amateur
Dynamix : A newly formed team of players that have played before and did well at the event in my opinion. Hope they keep it up. 3rd place for them in 3man amateur.
Speed Demons b : 1st place 3 man novice at their very first tournament and came back from a 2 point deficit to make it 3-2. Brilliant play and we even get to see them bunker J Keep off YouTube videos or I will make Mike slap some.
Lapatsa Rookies : 2nd Place 3man novice ,a very coordinated team with some good moves. They shoot a lot of paint and lock down lanes. Impressive.
Fear: 3rd Place 3man novice. All they need is more practice and I am sure they will make a big difference.
Joker Fear: 4th place 3man Novice. More practice and a bit more of concentration and they will improve a lot. Keep it up guys.
Setup
The field setup, air and Pits were great, the sound system and screens made an impression so I believe the setup was great.
